About me

Elizabeth E Coppock

As of Fall 2011, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf, Germany. I am currently primarily interested in: (i) the semantics of exclusives such as only, sole, and mere and their interaction with definiteness (with David Beaver); (ii) definiteness agreement in Hungarian, and related issues concerning agreement and the syntax and semantics of noun phrases (partly with Stephen Wechsler); (iii) the semantics of adjectival modification.

My dissertation, completed at Stanford University under the supervision of Ivan Sag, concerns the extent to which children have arbitrary syntactic properties of words to memorize in order to acquire their native language. For more, see my dissertation page.
